Breaking Bread March 29

This sign-up will be used to organize volunteers who will prepare the food, buy the supplies and help during the Breaking Bread event on Thursday, March 29.  March is one of the six times this year when the Great Barrington Rotary Club has committed to providing the Breaking Bread community dinner for "those in our community who need nourishment and friendship."  Please consider signing up for a shift.  Non-Rotarians are welcome to help also - bring a friend! Dave Isby is in charge this time - if you have any questions please direct them to Dave at [email protected]  If you would prefer not to use Sign-Up Genius to sign up for a job please email me and I will add your name to the job of your choice.

Set-Up (4)

Arrive between 3 and 4pm. Set up 10 tables with 8 chairs each. Put table cloths on. Set cups, napkins, knives and forks, salt & pepper. Set a table with cloth for dessert. Set up coffee maker. Set up 10 bread baskets w. napkins. Set up 10 butter plates

Plan main course menu, shop and cook. Have ready by 5pm.

Ensure all volunteer shifts are filled. Oversee everything.

Berkshire Mountain Bakery & American Legion Hall, Route 7, Sheffield, MA  3:30pm - 4:00pm  

Pick-Up Bread

Call Berkshire Mountain Bakery in advance to ask for a donation of 10 loaves of sliced bread. Pick up bread by 3:30pm on Thursday and deliver to American Legion by 4pm.

Shop for salad ingredients and dressing. Plate salads from 4 - 5pm to be served at 5:15pm.

Put out bread and butter. Serve food and drinks (table service). Clear dirty dishes

Know how to work dish washer (at least one of the three). Wash plates ad utensils. Hand wash pots and pans. Put clean dishes and utensils away.

Clean Up Crew (3)

Put away all tables and chairs. Vacuum floor in dining room. Mop floor in kitchen. Dump trash in Salisbury Bank dumpster across the road. Put up kitchen shutters. Lock windows. Check lights. Follow "to-do" list in kitchen.
