KSPTA Day of Action
The Kentfield Schools PTA is sponsoring a Day of Action to End Gun Violence on Wed. March 14th. 1:15-2:30 Room 34
This event will coincide with the national student walk-out to end gun violence, but it will be held after school. It will be an opportunity to make phone calls, write letters, and send emails to our elected officials about taking action to reduce access to firearms and prevent gun violence, such as:
- Prohibiting the sale and possession of assault weapons including automatic and semi-automatic weapons
- Raising the minimum age to purchase guns
- Mandatory background checks
- Waiting periods for all firearm purchases
- Other messages that we think are important for our legislators to hear
We will have sample letters/scripts, writing supplies, and computers for emails. Personal cell phones will be used to make phone calls so bring one if you have one. The PTA will also provide drinks and snacks and students/parents/staff can bring their lunches or buy pizza as part of the 8th Grade Graduation fundraiser that day.
We will be using Ms. Stephens' classroom - room 34 - at Kent from 1:15-2:30 on March 14th.
Parents, KSD staff, and Kent siblings may attend. All student participants must have their parents sign them up for this event using this page. Parents, by signing up your child you are consenting to their participation in these activities. Parents must accompany any child who is not a Kent student.
Thank you for being a part of something good and helping to take a stand to end gun violence in our schools and our communities!
