Compliant Homeless Ministry Volunteers
Due to the Little Flower Going Home project, we have transitioned our homeless ministry by hosting our Family Promise guest families at alternative locations. The next of these will be at the First United Methodist Church in Westfield from Sunday April 8 through Sunday April 15, 2018. The evenings for Little Flower volunteers to participate will be Wednesday, April 11, and Friday, April 13.
The location of the First United Methodist Church is 1 E Broad St. Westfield, NJ 07090 (For GPS, enter 130 Ferris Place Westfield NJ, 07090).
The Archdiocesan Safe Environment Policy requires that all volunteers directly serving youth and vulnerable adults complete a volunteer application, submit to a background check, agree to abide by the Archdiocesan Policies and Code of Ethics and attend the Protecting God's Children Workshop. Only those adult volunteers who have complied with these requirements may directly serve our homeless ministry guests.
Therefore this signup will only accept volunteers approved by the Little Flower parish office. If your sign-up is rejected and you believe that your standing should be as an approved volunteer, please send an email to [email protected] and your status will be rechecked by the parish office.
This restriction applies to volunteers serving as the evening coordinator- dinner, evening, overnight and breakfast hosts or as emergency drivers. Separate unrestricted sign-ups are available for any volunteers assisting with the setup, teardown or laundry or to drop off a meal item and to donate groceries and supplies.
Search for the specific date that you can help, and then find the volunteer role that interests you. Just add your name, email address and phone number to complete.
Thanks for your continued support.
