Celebrating Summer Camp — SignUpGenius Style!

If you ever went to summer camp as a kid (or just watched the Parent Trap) you probably have great memories of sunny days spent kayaking, roasting marshmallows and completing arts and crafts. We might be past our own summer camp days at SignUpGenius, but as we’ve watched our kids go off and have fun at camps, it made us a little sentimental.

So this summer, we daydreamed up our very own Office Summer Camp schedule. You know, just in case you want to try it out in your own workplace. And if you're sending your kids away for the week, check out our Summer Camp Packing Checklist

9 a.m. — Welcome: Campers arrive and unpack lunches into fridge.

9:15 a.m. — Coffee Making: A vital skill in any American workplace, our employees have tried their hands at making the best cup of java. While some swear by the Keurig, others have been busy slow-roasting their own beans.

10:30 a.m. — Meeting Participation: Through rigorous training, our employees can sit and take notes through almost any meeting we throw their way.

12 p.m. – Lunch: Campers sit down in the mess hall for some grub. Thankfully, the online office sign up makes sure we get tasty snacks every day.

12:15 p.m. – Naptime: It’s important to get some midday rest in when you’re as active as our campers are. Our genius employees catch some Z’s to get ready for camp’s afternoon activities.

12:30 — Typing Races: Created to help us respond to support tickets faster, our relay typing races get pretty intense around here. A few campers have had to sit out for a few days due to carpal tunnel syndrome, but their teams are ready to fill in the gaps and win the coveted prize — the best cubicle in the office.

1:30 p.m. — Cubicle Organizing & Inspection: With inspections every day, our office stays neat! Ever since strict minimalist and organization guru, CEO Dan Rutledge, became our inspector, we’ve learned the ancient art of shredding old paper sign ups and switching to online!

3 p.m. — Email Writing: It’s important that our camper’s families and customers hear that they’re doing OK at office camp. We like to take a little portion of each day to let everyone know what a great time we’re having as we help people organize their lives!

4 p.m. — Office Ceramics: We go through a lot of mugs drinking all the coffee we make during arts and crafts time. Crafting SUG mugs is just another part of the day that our campers enjoy!

4:45 p.m. — Pack Up: Campers pack up and say their goodbyes.

5 p.m. — Goodbyes: Campers head home.

There you have it! If you’re reminiscing about your summer camp days during these hot months, why not try some Office Summer Camp?
